Flowers Fair
The carnival atmosphere of these days that Medellin lives offers a wide variety of events and shows, not all directly related to the flowers, but all the fun is in name of the Flowers Fair, since they are the main framework of the carnival while providing entertainment and beautiful scenes, as well as unique in the world.
Live the party:
Each year, thousands of people gather around this party, designed to remember, celebrate and perpetuate the values of Antioquia. The party has the intimacy of the paisa culture and celebrates the flowering and customs of caste and regional race and, in general, the lifetime of the region. All framed in the evergreen smells, carnations, sunflowers or orchids. The activities that give life to the Flower Fair are multiple. There is usually more than 130 holiday events, including musical tablados all districts of the city, especially the most popular.
Tips for visitors
- At the fair you can enjoy activities for all tastes and all hours of the day, although the most intense celebrations take place at night
- Before the celebration, many Antioquenos often visit the village of Santa Elena to see how they made the "saddle" that carry the flowers during the fair.
- To eat: Bandeja Paisa, a dish of the region containing various ingredients such as rice, beans, and bananas.
- Antioqueño Aguardiente is the one that surely will be offered by the locals to invite you to join the party
